This document addresses the wide range of physical effects—with serious implications for investors and businesses—that climate change has already started to cause. It is designed as a guide to help chart a course for companies to disclose and manage risks, acknowledging that companies are already experiencing business impacts from weather-related phenomena that climate change is expected to make more common and/or intense.
The document provides: (i) publicly-traded companies with detailed and specific guidance on physical climate risk disclosure and risk management steps; and (ii) investors with guidance on the types of information they should expect of companies to manage portfolio risks related to physical climate change impacts.
